Teaching

UCSF ISIS Fellows will have an intensive mentored teaching experience with a Master Teacher at San Francisco State University, a minority-serving institution located minutes from UCSF campuses. ISIS Scholars will begin to learn about pedagogy through UCSF's "Preparing Future Faculty Summer Series" during the first year of the fellowship.

In the second year of the program, scholars will participate in several workshops coordinated by SFSU, where they will choose the discipline in which they will teach and be paired with an SFSU teaching mentor.

In year three, ISIS scholars will begin a more formal teaching apprenticeship with their SFSU mentor, including preparing and delivering lectures. For more information about the teaching component of the ISIS Program, contact: Bruce Macher, PhD, Professor of Chemistry Tel: 415.338.6078
