APM 390-25 states: "the mentor shall conduct an annual review with the Postdoctoral Scholar. A written evaluation will be provided to the Postdoctoral Scholar upon request."

At UCSF we strongly encourage faculty mentors to have their Postdocs complete an Individual Development Plan that can be used to outline goals, mark progress, and can be useful for annual reviews.
