Postdocs are invited to submit applications for the Postdoctoral Scholar Research Award, administered by the Graduate Division.
The PDRA award is intended to enable the recipients to pursue independent research projects that they will be able to take with them when they move on from their current positions, or to support research that would lead to independent publications. To be eligible, proposed projects also cannot be supported by resources within the lab, the Principal Investigator’s budget, or other sources of scholar support (i.e. fellowships or grants awarded to scholars directly).
Given the PDRA’s primary goal to support research that postdocs can pursue independently and ultimately take with them, proposals from postdocs who are closer to completing their training may carry more weight than proposals from first or second year postdocs, though all UCSF postdocs are eligible to apply for the award.
Application Procedure
Complete the application form and submit it to Jeannine Cuevas in the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs; Campus Box 0523; tel 514-4852; fax 514-0844; email jeannine.cuevas@ucsf.edu. Applications are accepted twice a year. The next semi-annual deadline is November 1, 2009. The recipients will be announced about a month later.
