How did you hear about the SRTP?
I learned about UCSF’s SRTP by searching for programs online. I was attracted to its wide array of available research areas.

What were your expectations going in to the program? Did the program meet these expectations?
I expected the SRTP to be similar to another summer research program I had done; and both programs were highly beneficial and valuable. However, the SRTP surpassed my expectations with its high level of professionalism, organization, and the positive attitudes of the participants, staff, and involved faculty.

What did you learn / what skills did you acquire? Did you learn anything unexpected?
My summer with the SRTP exposed me to a variety of research topics and issues. Experience and exposure are two important aspects of the learning process and my summer at UCSF allowed me to benefit from both. I learned important skills to communicate my research ideas and findings which is an essential part of science.

What did you think of the learning environment?
I enjoyed the unique learning environment at UCSF. I felt inspired by the prestigious researchers, but I also felt welcomed; it was a nice balance of challenge and comfort. I appreciate the fast pace and creative collaboration that UCSF promotes.

What are your future plans? Did the SRTP have any influence on these plans?
I cannot exactly describe what I want to study at this moment, I am still so fascinated by different aspects of psychology.

Would you recommend SRTP to other students in your field of study?
The SRTP was an amazing experience in terms of research, professional development, and growth. I was lucky to be involved with a project which was both fascinating and completely essential.

Do you have any additional comments about the SRTP that you'd like to share with students interested in applying?
My SRTP summer was one of the best. Besides the remarkable research, I met wonderful, inspirational people and explored a fantastic city.
