I am an international student. Am I eligible for these programs?

All participants in our summer research programs must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents.

What is the minimum GPA required to apply to your program?

The Amgen Scholars Program has a cumulative GPA requirement of 3.2. The SRTP and NSF REU do not have minimum GPA requirements.

I am a freshman with sophomore standing. Am I eligible?

All participants must have completed at least four semesters or six quarters of college coursework by start of the summer program in June. Therefore, freshmen students with sophomore standing are not eligible.

The program starts on May 31, 2010, but I get out of school after that. Am I still eligible?

Yes, students on the quarter system are still eligible. You may start the program as soon as finals are over, but will finish the program with the rest of the group on August 4, giving you less time to conduct research on your project.

Do I need to send an official transcript?

No, we accept unofficial transcripts.

Do my letters of recommendation have to be submited by February 2nd?

Yes, all materials must be submited in order to have a completed application.

Does the application need to be submited by the deadline?

All applications must be SUBMITED by the application deadline of February 2, 2010.
