Yiqi Cao, a bioengineering graduate student in the lab of Tejal Desai, PhD, professor and chair of bioengineering and therapeutic sciences, won the top prize of $3,000 as well as the people's choice award in the fourth annual UCSF Grad Slam competition. Inez Raharjo, also a graduate student in the Bioengineering PhD program, was named runner-up.

All ten of this year's finalists combined to put on an informative — and engaging — show for the live audience who filled Byers Auditorium at the UCSF Mission Bay campus on March 22. They were (from left): Claire Tang, Yiqi Cao, Inez Raharjo, Katie Cabral, Meredith Van Natta, Jennifer Hu, Tess Veuthey, Ashley Libby, Frances Cho, and Steven Moss.
