Motivating INformed Decisions (MIND), UC San Francisco’s newest career exploration program, is about to embark on its inaugural year! MIND will give basic and biomedical grad students and postdocs the skills they need to effectively explore the diversity of careers available to PhD scientists.
UC San Francisco ranks among the top universities in the world yet again — second in clinical medicine and pharmacy and fifth in life sciences in the 2014 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). Several other UC campuses also scored well.

The end of July brought to a close eight transformative weeks for a small group of San Francisco high school students, who spent their summer doing mentored research in labs at UCSF. Twenty students participated in the High School Intern Program (HIP), which is run by the UCSF Science and Health Education Partnership.
In the spring of 2014, students voted to approve changes in the structure of student government at UCSF.
The Graduate Students' Association (GSA) and the Associated Students of UCSF (ASUC) merged to create the Graduate and Professional Students' Association (GPSA). This new organization will jointly represent the common interests of all graduate students as well as professional students at UCSF.
Formation of the new GPSA resulted in the dissolution of the GSA. This was made official in June 2014.
