Fresh on the heels of winning the AAMC’s Innovation in Research and Research Training Award in August, UC San Francisco has been awarded a $1.7 million grant for a new career development initiative entitled “Motivating Informed Decisions: Careers for the Future Biomedical Workforce” (MIND).

Future Scientist is a small non-profit doing big things! Founded by UC San Francisco and UC Berkeley students who want to improve the world through science education, the organization's approach is to use hands-on science lessons to teach resource-poor communities how to identify problems that negatively impact their health and environment, and show them ways to implement their own sustainable, science-based solutions.
