UCSF's University Development and Alumni Relations team won the “Overall Grand Gold” in the Alumni Relations Program category for the group’s ability to actively engage graduate and postdoc alumni.

PhD candidate Scott Coyle and Silvia Rouskin, a recent PhD graduate, have been granted a prestigious Harold M. Weintraub Graduate Student Award from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. The two winners, both out of UCSF's Tetrad Program in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, were selected on the basis of the quality, originality and significance of their work.

The Graduate Division is proud to announce its 2015 Distinguished Alumna of the Year, Victoria Hale. Dr. Hale graduated from the UCSF Pharmaceutical Chemistry PhD Program in 1990.


After establishing formidable expertise in drug development at the FDA (1990-95) and Genentech (1995-1998), Hale founded OneWorld Health, the first nonprofit pharmaceutical company in the U.S.

Seventeen top educational institutions worldwide are partnering in the twelve-year, $50 million program.


The Graduate Division at UC San Francisco has been awarded a grant from the Amgen Foundation that will provide hands-on laboratory experience to undergraduate students through the Amgen Scholars Program. This marks the 9th year that UCSF will participate in the program, which aims to inspire the next generation of innovators by providing undergraduates with hands-on summer research opportunities at many of the world’s premier education institutions.
