In compliance with campus restrictions on large gatherings through April 15 as part of efforts to control the spread of COVID-19, Grad Slam will be rescheduled for a later date.

UCSF's 6th Annual Grad Slam contest will culminate in an exciting live event on Thursday, March 19, 2020, 4-6 p.m., at the UCSF Mission Bay campus in Genentech Hall Auditorium. Ten PhD student finalists will present their research in three minutes or less, in language accessible to a general audience. It's a celebration not only of the finalists and contest winner, but also of graduate research at UCSF and of scientific enquiry. This popular event always draws a crowd, so mark your calendar and plan to show up early. Reception follows in the atrium while we await announcement of prize winners.

Cash prizes of $4,000, $2,000, and $1,000 will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize winners chosen by the judges. And the audience at Mission Bay and Parnassus will choose the "People's Choice" winner, who will receive $750.

Note: Once again, the event will also be live-streamed to Parnassus (N 225). The Parnassus audience will participate in the "people's choice" voting, and will also enjoy a reception after the talks.
