Mentoring in Times of Crisis- Dr. Christine Pfund

GEPA is thrilled to invite you to a special lecture by Dr. Christine Pfund — “Mentoring in Times of Crisis” — as we commemorate the launch of our new Faculty Development Initiative. As we continue to deepen our culture of mentorship within and across departments, this session will offer practical strategies to enhance mentoring relationships and drive success for both mentors and mentees in these challenging times.

In this talk, Dr. Pfund will discuss approaches to fostering mentorship during difficult times. She will also present tools and campus resources to navigate current challenges and lead activities and a Q&A.

Dr. Pfund is the director of the Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research (CIMER); director, NRMN Coordination Center | ICTR Mentorship Initiatives; and distinguished senior scientist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Pfund earned her PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology, followed by postdoctoral research in Plant Pathology, both at University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her work focuses on developing, implementing, documenting, and studying interventions to optimize research mentoring relationships across science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEMM).
